Mountain Equipment has been awarded a 2025 ISPO Award for the Super Oreus Jacket, our next-generation synthetic belay jacket designed for serious winter and alpine use. The award follows the success of the original Oreus Jacket, which received the same recognition in 2023.
A new step forward in synthetic insulation
The Super Oreus has been developed to deliver down-like warmth, comfort and packability with the reliability of a fully synthetic build. Using a two-layer construction, our Aetherm™ insulation offers significant gains in warmth and protection in cold, demanding conditions.
The jacket has been tested over two full Scottish winter seasons with the instructors of Plas y Brenin, the National Outdoor Centre for Mountain Sport in England, and by alpine climber Tom Livingstone, who recently received a Piolet d’Or for his first ascent of the West Ridge of Gasherbrum III.
