About the Role:
Starting September 1st, we are looking for a Garment Technologist (maternity cover) to join our team on a 12-month contract. You will play a key role in the continuing development and quality of our award-winning product range.
Key Responsibilities:
- To review product and maintain specifications, in conjunction with the apparel development team. From SMS through to final production.
- Responsible for the accuracy of specs throughout development and production.
- Review and approval of factory submissions to ensure on-time production.
- Maintenance of factory critical paths to ensure on-time submission of samples and production.
- Ensure regular communication with the merchandise and shipping team on product status.
- Daily communication with suppliers to advise/answer any specification/production queries to enable production of correct quality garments to agreed timelines.
- Liaise with the Far East QC team to coordinate QC requirements and ensure that issues are resolved in a timely fashion.
- Carry out quality control checks on product deliveries in accordance with ISO procedures.
- To pursue claims with suppliers in conjunction with the purchasing manager for non-conformity of products to specification.
- Responsible for ensuring that the critical path for production is on track.
The successful candidate will have:
- Degree level education in garment or product technology, or equivalent experience.
- 3 years of experience in a garment tech role. Experience working on performance sportswear would be beneficial.
- Competent with the full Microsoft Office suite. Experience with PLM systems would be beneficial.
- Experience of working on taped or insulated garments would be beneficial.
