This year, we're turning Black Friday red. No hype. No flash sales. Just genuine support for UK Mountain Rescue Teams who give everything to help others in the mountains.
Supporting UK Mountain Rescue Teams
Mountain Rescue Teams across the UK’s mountains, valleys, and coastlines respond day and night, in all conditions, to keep people safe. In 2024, teams were called out more than 4,800 times, the highest number on record.
When the weather closes in, Mountain Rescue Teams head out. This coming Black Friday weekend, 10% of all our direct UK online sales will be donated to UK-based Mountain Rescue Teams that keep our mountainous areas safe across England, Wales, and Scotland.
Why Red Friday?
Black Friday has become a race to the bottom on discounting. We’re taking a different approach.
For more than a decade, we’ve worked closely with many red-jacketed Mountain Rescue Teams across the UK, developing specialist clothing that performs in the harshest conditions. Red Friday is our way of giving something back.
Every purchase you make from Friday, 28 November, to Monday, 1 December, supports the volunteers who give their time, skills, and experience to help others in the mountains.
How Your Purchase Helps
- Supports Mountain Rescue teams across England, Wales, and Scotland.

- Across Black Friday weekend (28 November–1 December 2025), 5% of all UK online sales at mountain-equipment.com will support Scottish Mountain Rescue (SMR) and 5% will support Mountain Rescue England and Wales (MREW).
Our Work With Mountain Rescue
Since 2009, we’ve been developing specialist clothing in collaboration with UK Mountain Rescue Teams and their volunteers. More than 40 teams now rely on our waterproof shells, insulation, and legwear during real-world operations and training in the most demanding weather conditions.
Their feedback has shaped products across our range, from professional-grade GORE-TEX PRO shells to high-loft synthetic insulation designed to work when conditions are at their worst.
This experience sits at the heart of Red Friday.
