Down Sleeping Bags

We have built the pyramids, split the atom, and been to the moon, yet the humble down cluster from geese and ducks remains the best insulating material that we have.

It is more compressible, longer-lasting, and offers better warmth for its weight than any other fibrous insulation.Despite the amazing natural properties of down, if it is not used in the right amounts or not carefully controlled in the right places even the most exceptional down can be practically useless. If a baffle is too big or filled with too little down then down will move around and offer reduced efficiency and contribute to additional weight for no benefit. Conversely, if a baffle is too small or filled with too much down then it cannot loft properly, again offering reduced thermal efficiency. We have invested significant time in laboratory testing, field testing and extensive prototyping to optimise the down density across our range of bags, and in each baffle in every bag. Each bag has been optimised not just for thermal performance, but for compression resistance, migration control, comfort, and longevity. Go back to the top
